Wecome!
I'm Sara, a versatile artist whose journey into the world of art began under the influence of my mother's college artworks and textbooks. From a young age, I was drawn to the rich knowledge within her art materials, which sparked my passion for art throughout grade school. My artistic ambitions were further fueled by an inspiring middle school teacher, Mr. Heath—an accomplished architect and artist—who introduced me to the Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD) in Savannah, Georgia. His belief in my potential and the idea that art could transcend being merely a hobby motivated me to pursue art more earnestly, ultimately leading to my acceptance at SCAD in 2011.
At SCAD, I expanded my artistic horizons, gaining proficiency in photography, illustration, graphic design, painting, and printmaking. The nurturing environment, coupled with the support from professors and the formation of lasting friendships, was transformative.
My engagement to my husband marked a personal renaissance, leading to the birth of Sweet As Honey Studio—a venture that began as a bespoke stationery business and has since blossomed into offering branding, logos, and art commissions; marrying my love for printmaking, painting, graphic design, and illustration.
Photography remains a vital part of my artistic expression, with recent projects including lifestyle headshots and engagement photos. Whether through photography, crafting stationery, or sketching, creativity is part of my being. I am committed to living the dream that once seemed a distant possibility to my 12-year-old self: making art my full-time vocation.
