Sweet As Honey Studio is a venture that began as a bespoke stationery business and has since blossomed into offering branding, logos, and art commissions, marrying my love for printmaking, graphic design, and illustration.
THE BACKSTORY
The woman pictured in this locket serves as my muse—my great-grandmother Honey, whose name Sweet As Honey Studio lovingly commemorates.
Honey embodied a unique blend of fiery spirit, elegance, kindness, and unparalleled warmth. Her love was infectious, effortlessly touching everyone around her.
The year I embarked on my college journey marked Honey's passing, creating a poignant link to my college's mascot, the Bumblebee. This connection has since transformed bumblebees into a treasured emblem of her enduring love and legacy.
THE BEGINNING OF SWEET AS HONEY
When my husband popped the question, I dived into countless websites looking for the perfect save-the-dates and invitations. But nothing felt like "us." Everything was either too cookie-cutter, too generic, or just way too pricey for custom work. I realized the only way to truly capture our vibe was to do it myself. And so I did.
I aimed to infuse our personalities and style into every piece of paper, hoping to elicit the same joy and love from our invites that our guests would feel celebrating with us. Each design element was a little preview of the wedding's vibe.
I believe every couple deserves to showcase their uniqueness, starting with their wedding stationery. Whether it's save-the-dates or table cards, their love story should be the star of the show.
Noticing a gap in the market for fully custom stationery, the concept for Sweet As Honey was conceived.
